On the surface, it may appear that a cancelled shifts is a simple concept.  Someone is unable to work, so their shift ends up being cancelled.  When one considers this a little further, it becomes clear that this is more complex.  With respect to required shift tallies, are there circumstances where a shift may count towards required shift tallies?  How are cancelled shifts tracked, and who is responsible for that?  Does a scheduling system allow for tracking not only the cancelled shift but also all of the associated details, or is this tracked outside the scheduling system due to a featureless scheduling platform?  What type of cancelled shift reports are available?  For several years, OnServiceMD has developed and enhanced how a program can track and view cancelled shifts, add key corresponding data elements and provide cancelled shift reports with key data fields.  Additional features released in 2024 provide a program with even more customization regarding how they track and handle cancelled shifts.  This is another example of how OnServiceMD has refined and optimized the features needed in a complete, robust scheduling system for doctors and APPs.
